La Capanna del Gallo is located within the historic estate of Villa S. Andrea, today a winery and farmhouse, whose complex dominates the hill near the small village of Fabbrica, immersed in the green of the Sangiovese vineyards, at the gates of the Chianti region.
The restaurant is in a hamlet where the Fabbrica Castle stood in the 11th century, later dismantled by the Ghibellines in the years after the battle of Monteaperti. It passed into the hands of many important families including the Rinuccini and the Corsini, until in 1946 it was inherited by the Vicini family, current owners.
